Aurulenttravel.com is operated by Aurulent Travel (Pty) Ltd, trading as Aurulent Travel. Aurulent Travel (Pty) Ltd is a South African incorporated online travel business. Its company registration number is 2014/057317/07.
Aurulent Travel is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Aurulent Travel chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi, for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature, 11 Simond Road, Oakwood, Durbanville, 7550, South Africa.
NATURE OF BUSINESS
Aurulent Travel’s business is to act as an intermediary for the booking of travel lodging, transport and related services. As such, the underlying agreement is between the traveller and the proprietors of the accommodation venues and transport and services companies.
We are an Online Travel Agent facilitating transactions between you and Travel Service Providers, such as:
- Accommodation Venues
- Car Hire Companies
- Tour Operators
- Cruise Companies
- Rail Operators
- Visa Service Companies
- Travel Insurance Companies
- Foreign Exchange Operators
Aurulent Travel cannot be held responsible for any complaints, conflicts, or claims agains the proprietors of the accommodation venues and transport and services companies that it makes bookings with on behalf of its clients.
However, Aurulent Travel will endeavour to assist its clients with any complaints, conflicts, or claims that may arise out of such bookings.
AUTHORITY TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT
The person making any booking, by the making of such booking, warrants that he or she has authority to enter into a contract on behalf of the other persons included in such a booking. In the event of the failure of any or all the other persons so included to make payment, the person making the booking assumes personal liability for the total price of all bookings made by him or her.
All prices quoted on aurulenttravel.com are indicative, and typically refer to low season pricing. Prices are based on two adults sharing a room, and vary by season and by room type. In many cases child discounts and single supplements apply.
Final pricing will only be provided once an enquiry has been made. It is only at this stage that the provision of such final pricing becomes a firm offer to transact.
SCHEDULE OF PAYMENT
The schedule of payment provided below is largely determined by the terms of trade of our contracted suppliers, accommodation venues, tour operators and transport and services companies.
- 50% of the confirmed total booking value for all services other than airline reservations is payable in the form of a non-refundable deposit on the date of confirmation.
- 100% of the confirmed total booking value of all airline reservations is payable on the date of confirmation.
- The full balance of the payment is required 8 (eight) weeks prior to the commencement of travel.
- Where a booking is made for travel commencing in less than 8 (eight) weeks, the full amount is payable on booking.
The cancellation schedule below is largely determined by the terms of trade of the accommodation venues with whom we are partnered.
- Cancellation between 8 (eight) and 4 (four) weeks prior to travel: 50% of total cost is forfeited.
- Cancellation less than 4 (four) weeks prior to travel: 100% of total cost is forfeited.
- If you wish to change or cancel any part of your booking, an Aurulent Travel amendment or cancellation fee will apply, over and above the amendment or cancellation fees charged by the respective airlines, accommodation venues, tour operators and transport and services companies.
All international and internal air quotations are subject to change and can carry penalties and surcharges until final payment has been received by Aurulent Travel. Flight confirmation is based on availability. Please note that certain airfares are subject to a service fee. Airlines may charge cancellation and/or amendment fees over and above the cancellation and/or amendment fees charged by Aurulent Travel as set out in these terms and conditions. Cancellation fees apply once air tickets are issued. The cancellation fees range between 25% up to 100% (plus VAT) of the total airfare paid, dependant on the class of travel and the airline concerned. During high/peak periods - once issued, tickets cannot be changed and are non-refundable. Airlines are non-negotiable to changes post ticket issuance. Passengers are reminded that they are responsible for reconfirmation of flights and flight times at least 72 hours prior to departure to ensure the airline has had no schedule or time changes. Failure to reconfirm flights with the airline concerned could lead to the cancellation of the flight reservation. Aurulent Travel is not responsible for the overbooking by airlines resulting in passengers being denied boarding. Providing passengers adhere to check in time, it is the airlines responsibility to reroute or rebook flights.
AMENDMENT & CANCELLATION FEE
An amendment or cancellation fee of R300 per passenger for airline changes and/or R300 per itinerary booking will be levied for any changes to the confirmed itinerary and/or ticket. Aurulent Travel's amendment & cancellation fee is charged in addition to any amendment & cancellation fees which may be charged by the relevant airline(s), accommodation venue(s), transport and/or services company.
LATE BOOKING FEE
A late booking fee of R500 will be charged for requests received within 7 days of departure. Once confirmed these bookings will carry the cancellation fees as set out above. Due to the policies of our suppliers we require full payment before we can request availability for bookings made within 10 days of departure.
These fees cover the costs incurred by Aurulent Travel in booking and servicing your travel reservation. We reserve the right to charge a service fee for any additional services rendered.
Documentation will only be issued once full payment has been received and cleared by our bankers.
Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, or by bank transfer into the bank account of Aurulent Travel, the details of which will be provided on request.
Aurulent Travel uses Virtual Card Services (VCS) to process online credit card payments. VCS is a registered Payment Service Provider (PSP) offering leading payment gateway services. For your protection, the online payment system only accepts credit cards enrolled on the MasterCard 3D secure system or Visa cards enrolled on the Verified by Visa system, the online system does not process American Express or Diners cards as these cards cannot be processed online securely.
Your credit card details are secure, and protected by VCS. All credit card transactions are 128 bit Secure Socket Layers (SSL) encrypted. All encryption complies with international standards. Encryption is used to protect the transmission of personal information when completing online transactions. Virtual Card Services Internet servers are protected by firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
MERCHANT OUTLET COUNTRY AND TRANSACTION CURRENCY
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. The transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR). Payment in currency other than South African Rand will be converted to South African Rand at the time of payment, and the net amount due to Aurulent Travel is the amount stated on the invoice.
It is a condition of booking with Aurulent Travel that all travellers have the correct comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover themself for the duration of their travel booking with Aurulent Travel. This is the sole responsibility of the traveller. This insurance should include cover in respect of, but not limited to, the following:
- Health Insurance, including full medical, emergency evacuation and repatriation cover for the full period of travel. Travellers will be charged directly by the relevant service providers for any emergency services they may require.
- Cancellation & Curtailment: If, for any reason, a traveller has to cancel a booking close to departure date, the traveller may forfeit a large portion, or even the entire cost of the booking. Furthermore, should a traveller have to depart prior to completion of his or her safari, the cost of the portion of the safari that has not been completed is not refundable. It is the responsibility of the traveller to take out appropriate insurance to cater for this eventuality.
- Damage/theft/loss of personal luggage, money and/or goods: It is advisable to take out luggage and money insurance, especially if expensive equipment or substantial amounts of cash is being carried.
Aurulent Travel, and any person or agent acting for, through, or on behalf of Aurulent Travel, will not take responsibility for any costs, losses incurred or suffered by travellers, or travellers’ dependents or companions with regard to, but not limited to, any of the above mentioned eventualities.
CANCELLATION AND CURTAILMENT
Aurulent Travel shall have the right at any time, at its discretion, to cancel any booking or the remaining portion thereof, or to make any alterations to routes, accommodation, price or other details, and, in the event of any travel being rendered impossible, illegal or inadvisable by weather, strike, war, government or interference or any other cause, the extra expenses incurred as a result thereof shall be the responsibility of the traveller.
Aurulent Travel may, at its discretion and without liability or cost to itself, at any time cancel or terminate a traveller’s booking, and in particular it shall be entitled to do so in the event of the illness or the illegal or incompatible behaviour of the traveller, who shall in such circumstances not be entitled to any refund.
Aurulent Travel, its employees, shareholders, officers, directors, successors, agents and assigns shall not be liable for any losses, damages, claims or expenses arising from the use of, or connected with, aurulenttravel.com or any products or services purchased on aurulenttravel.com, and Aurulent Travel makes no warranty or representation as to the aptness or suitability of any product or service displayed on aurulenttravel.com or any linked site.
Aurulent Travel, its employees, shareholders, officers, directors, successors, agents and assigns shall not be responsible for loss or damage arising from any errors or omissions contained in its published information, nor for any loss or damage caused by delays, sickness, theft, injury or death.
PASSPORT, VISAS AND OTHER TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
Passports must be valid for six (6) months after the return of your journey and should also have suffcient blank pages for visas and immigration stamps. A copy of your valid passport must be submitted to Aurulent Travel in order to confirm air reservations made through Aurulent Travel.
Visas applications, costs and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveller. It is the responsibility of travellers to ensure that they have all necessary visas prior to departure from their home country, unless these can be obtained on arrival. Aurulent Travel, its staff, agents and operators cannot be held liable, should entry to a country be denied because a traveller failed to secure the correct visa. If a traveller plans to extend his or her journey to other countries not included in the Aurulent Travel booking, visa entry requirements for those countries need to be established as well.
NEW SOUTH AFRICAN VISA REGULATIONS
South Africa recently announced new regulations that would require all passengers under 18 years of age to present an unabridged birth certificate as well as a valid passport when entering, departing or transiting through South Africa. This requirement is to apply to minors of all nationalities – whether travelling unaccompanied, with both parents, with one parent or with a guardian or another adult.
After an outcry from tourism and travel organisations, implementation of these new regulations have been postponed to allow for consultation. Things are in a state of flux at the moment, and travellers are best advised to consult with their booking agents or consulates for the latest developments.
An unabridged birth certificate should contains the following details:
- Date and place of birth, gender and full name of the child.
- Date and place of birth, full names, and citizenship at the time of birth of the parents.
Parents or guardians travelling alone with a minor child (aged 18 years or younger) to South Africa must be in possession of a certified letter of consent from the non-accompanying parent or guardian.
For single parents travelling alone with a child, one of the following must be provided:
- An affidavit, no more than 3 months old on the date of travel, in which the absent parent gives consent for the child to travel.
- A court order granting full responsibilities or legal guardianship of the child.
- The death certificate of the absent parent.
Aurulent Travel may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice. Any such change will take effect from the time that such agreement or any part thereof has been updated and published on its website.
